Jaffee Residence

This renovation in Richmond, MA, was completed in 2018 and involved upgrading a classic ‘mid-century modern’ house initially built in the 1950’s.  Years of neglect had to be addressed, including code upgrades to virtually all mechanical systems, the septic system as well as many architectural upgrades and repairs to everything from the roof to the siding.  Nevertheless, the original; design — and interior layout — remained both dynamic and desirable, filled with light and a profound connection to the beauty of the surrounding site, and it’s innumerable white birch trees and vinca ground cover.  The main entry was re-located to again reflect the original design intent and, as much as possible, the original exterior design was respected by the renovation.
